Andy likes bears. That’s the origin story.

Grizzlies are apex predators with a memory sharp enough to recall a food source years later, a nose that works from twenty miles out, and a top speed of thirty miles an hour. They are also, objectively, one of the most compelling faces in the animal kingdom — which is why Bruce fills the entire frame and still doesn’t feel like too much.

He’s not aggressive. He’s not performing. He’s just a very large animal who knows exactly what he is, looking at you with the kind of calm that only comes from being at the top of the food chain. The deep greens of the background push him forward, that golden-brown fur catching the light across every brushstroke, the detail in his eyes sharp enough to make you feel like he’s the one doing the studying.
